Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Hikify at hikify.eu, the application at app.hikify.eu, and the Hikify iOS / Apple Watch applications (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

The Service

Hikify lets you store, organise, view, and edit GPX hiking tracks in personal collections, optionally publish hikes to Community, and use companion features on Apple Watch. Features may change as we improve the product.

Accounts

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your password secure.
You are responsible for activity under your account.
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion permanently removes your library and account data from our systems.

Your content

You retain ownership of the GPX files, photos, and notes you upload. You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you (including sync and backups). Content you publish to Community is visible to other signed-in users under these Terms.

You must not upload unlawful content, malware, harassment, spam, or material that infringes others’ rights. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.

Community safety

Community is user-generated. You can report hikes, photos, or users, and block other users so their content no longer appears for you. We review reports and may take action including removal of content or account suspension. See Support for how to contact us.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

attempt to break into, disrupt, or overload the Service;
abuse rate limits or automate account creation;
use the Service for anything illegal;
harass, threaten, or spam other users;
reverse engineer the Service except where permitted by law.

Third-party maps

Map tiles may be provided by third parties (for example OpenStreetMap contributors). Their licences and attribution requirements apply to map imagery. Hikify is not affiliated with those providers.

Disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is”. Outdoor navigation involves risk. Always verify routes independently and follow local regulations. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hikify and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data beyond restoring what we can reasonably recover from our systems. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory consumer law.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service (with reasonable notice where practical).

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence within the EEA/UK.
